Description

Based on the success of the Dutch “Neurorehabilitation-Stroke” course and on questions from (inter)national organizations a Dutch International Neurorehabilitation Course is developed, in line with the original course applied in the Netherlands, however condensed to 5 days.
This course can be given in your own country, by the so called Neuro Flying Dutch team and educates allied health professionals to become experts in stroke rehabilitation.

This course contains theoretical lectures in the morning by Dutch top researchers in the field of stroke rehabilitation and neuroplasticity (Prof. dr. Gert. Kwakkel and Dr.Jaap H. Buurke) and practical exercise (case studies, clinical reasoning, training of practical skills and treatment of stroke-patients) in the afternoon, given by Dutch experienced physical therapists/teachers Neurorehabilitation ( Mrs.Jip F.Kamphuis, MSc and Hans Kerstens, MSc).

Topics
Day 1: Clinimetrics: Theory & Practice
Day 2: Prognostic models and clinical determinants
Day 3: Mechanisms of recovery and brain plasticity
Day 4: Evidenced based practice and general principles of learning / training
Day 5: Innovative therapies in Neurorehabilitation

The Dutch International Stroke Neurorehabilitation Course is organized by the Dutch Institute of Allied Health Care and is accredited by the Dutch Society for Neurorehabilitation which is part of the World Federation of Neurological Rehabilitation

Target group
Experienced physical or occupational therapists, so called key-players, working in the field of Neurorehabilitation with stroke patients in the country concerned. Actually being involved in treating stroke patients is a prerequisite to participate in the course.
