We are a non-profit organization that aims to improve the professionalism of physiotherapists and other allied healthcare professionals.

To do so, we offer an extensive range of post-graduate courses, masterclasses, e-learnings and webinars. Live in the Netherlands and abroad, online and on-demand.

'The NPi' consists of a team of 19 colleagues. Around them is a large network of more than 500 experienced professionals. Together with these physiotherapists exercise therapists and occupational therapists, course leaders, teachers, researchers, lecturers, professors and writers, we help physiotherapists in their ‘lifelong learning’.

Lifelong learning

To support lifelong learning, we create coherence between our courses: for example, start with a basic course, then do a follow-up course and keep up with masterclasses, webinars and e-learnings.

Every year we provide more than 200 courses with over 6,500 participants. In our course offerings we distinguish between:

  1. in-depth courses that are accessible to every physiotherapist;
  2. courses at expert level for which specific entry requirements apply.

Entry requirements
Those entry requirements can vary. For some expert level courses, a preparatory e-learning is sufficient to participate. But for other expert courses, a basic course or master's degree may be required.

With these entry requirements, we ensure that you are in the right course in terms of entry level. We also try to prevent students with too little prior knowledge from hindering the learning process of the other participants. We want to ensure that you can really go in-depth during the course. Only then can you get the most out of the training and help your patients even better the next day.

Practical training
Most of our courses contain practical components. This is necessary because it is one of our spearheads to approach the everyday context of physitherapy  as much as possible in our education. In most courses we use case histories to mimic practical situations.

Incompany
For institutions and practices that want to take a course with their team and/or in their familiar environment, we provide in-company courses. We do this dozens of times a year, for example for regional partnerships, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, nursing homes and primary care practices.

Blended learning
We have been using 'blended forms of education' for years, and it is increasing. Blended learning has three pillars:

  • online learning
  • face-to-face learning
  • learning in professional practice

Online learning can include an on-demand e-learning as a preparation for one or more training days on location, or an interim digital test to map the learning process and guide the content of the next training day. By applying the acquired knowledge and skills from the contact learning in practice, the learning in the professional practice comes into play.
